From January 1, 2025, amendments to the Forest Code are put into effect, making it mandatory to use the GLONASS positioning system on logging equipment and machines transporting wood. JSC Gonets Satellite System presented its developments and opportunities in this area at the XXVIII International Forest Forum and exhibition "Russian Forest", which were held in Vologda from December 6 to 8.
On the first day of the event, Gonets Satellite System JSC, together with Ilimsky LTUS LLC, took part in the round table "Digital transformation of the forest complex: from LesEGAIS to FGIS LC". The event was opened with an introductory speech by Alexander Mariev, chief analyst of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Rosleskhoz, in which he noted the importance of digitalization of the forest complex and the use of domestic funds to ensure the information infrastructure of the Forest complex.
Maxim Diordiev, Director of the Satellite Systems Application Directorate of Gonets Satellite System JSC, noted in his report that the Gonets satellite system has been providing GLONASS data transmission from mobile devices to data processing and monitoring centers from remote locations for many years. The connected environment provided by the Gonets system makes it possible to deliver GLONASS data and telematics information from any places where logging and transportation of forests are carried out, including areas not covered by terrestrial communication networks, to LesEGAIS, and in the future to FGIS LC (Federal State Information System of the Forest Complex). Maxim Diordiev placed special emphasis on the ability of the Gonets satellite system to transmit data at the required intervals, which ensures the continuity of monitoring of the mobile means of the Forest Complex.
Ksenia Karakchieva, Director of Operational Management at Ilimsky LTUS LLC, noted that the Cedar PAK solution developed by Ilimsky LTUS LLC, successfully operated by loggers, uses Gonets satellite equipment in its solution. Gonets terminals have built-in GLONASS receivers and provide transmission of coordinate data regardless of the location of logging equipment. The Cedar package and the Cedar Analytics software module are a technological platform for fulfilling legislative requirements for end-to-end accounting of harvested wood and transmitting information about the actual volumes, assortment and place of logging to the customer's information system and further to the FGIS LC directly from logging equipment.
On the second day, representatives of JSC "Gonets Satellite System" and LLC "Ilim LTUS" took part in the round table "Presentation of new solutions and products for the forest complex", where they presented in an expanded format the capabilities of various services of the Gonets satellite system and the Cedar PACK in the interests of organizations working in the field of logging. The relevance and relevance of the presented solutions were noted by the organizers with diplomas.
