JSC Gonets Satellite System (part of Roscosmos State Corporation) took part in the VII meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on the Use of Space Activities in the Interests of Socio-Economic Development of the Russian Federation and Its Regions (ICUSA), which took place on November 23-24 in Kaluga.
The annual meeting of the ICUSA was held this time at the K.E. Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics, where more than 400 representatives from 89 regions of Russia, as well as 22 ministries and departments of Russia gathered, including more than 60 participants in person.
Alexander Grisenko, Head of Digital Transformation at SS Gonets JSC, made a presentation at the meeting, where he presented the current results of work on the use of channels of the Gonets satellite communication system and the Luch relay system in various industries. In particular, over the current year, due to the opening of new information reception stations, the possibilities of using the Luch system have expanded as part of the work in the international search and rescue system COSPAS-SARSAT. Work continues on import substitution of foreign operators' services in the field of monitoring the fishing fleet using the Gonets low-orbit satellite system. The logging industry is actively using the domestic digital solution of the Cedar PAK, using equipment and communication channels of the Gonets system. In general, Gonets Satellite System JSC is increasing production and sales of subscriber terminals in 2023. Active work continues on the development and implementation of digital services based on the Gonets satellite system in other sectors of the economy and everyday life.
During the VII meeting of the ICUSA, at which representatives of companies in the rocket and space industry reported on the current status of their work, it was decided to develop the use of services derived from space activities in the interests of socio-economic development of the Kaluga Region.
The ICUSA was established under the State Corporation Roscosmos in accordance with the decision of the meeting of the Security Council of the Russian Federation held on 04.16.2019 under the leadership of the President of Russia. The purpose of the work of the ICUSA is to increase the efficiency of work in the field of using the results of space activities in the interests of socio–economic development of the Russian Federation and its regions.
